Tips and Techniques for Overcoming Creative Blocks

Blocks are usually a symptom. Here is how to work out of what they are a symptom.

A creative block is rarely a shortage of ideas. It is more often a shortage of information, a shortage of constraint, or a decision someone else has not made yet.

Name which one it is

If you cannot start, you are usually missing a constraint. If you cannot finish, you are usually missing a decision. If you can do both but hate the result, you are missing information about the person it is for.

Make the smallest version

The fastest way out of the first case is to make the version that is obviously too small, and then argue with it.
